Hi Romain, thanks for the quick response. There is a second class in the sample that uses the same interface: [https://github.com/apache/cxf/blob/master/distribution/src/main/release/samples/jax_rs/spring_boot/src/main/java/sample/rs/service/hello2/HelloServiceImpl2.java]

So just providing the interface will not work either. I've not created the sample, just adapting it as it works with the swagger implementation. Maybe it's just a special case and I should focus on the basic stuff first :)
